Overly drunk live-to-air internet radio shenanigans with Sonic in my tiny new basement studio where I started to make my own tracks.
Category: DJ Sets
Sublight: “From the past, a cry for Help” DJ set
Beautiful, deep and dark, very old German trance and techno plays on both the heartstrings and the mind.
Sublight: “Dust Breaks” DJ set
Funky breaks for late-night rooms. Dust breaks, in part because some are really ancient (though many aren’t), but all because they come together in a dirty mix.
Sublight: “Flowers for Ashley” DJ set
A little something for a girl that loved drum & bass and breaks.
Sublight: “Evil Empire” DJ set
A tribute to a true original master – the one and only Alec Empire. Culled from the vaults of his DHR label, as well as old Force Inc./Mille Plateaux releases, this covers many of the genres he’s dipped his toes into – acid, breakcore, ambient/experimental, and some serious lo-beat harshness – much of which has created or furthered the template for these forms. There are probably a few tracks in here that aren’t strictly his (Atari Teenage Riot and a few side projects), and some that might just be on his label (I’m sure there’s a Christoph de Babylon track in here somewhere…), regardless, you’ll see his hands at work in all of it – plus the mixing on this set appears to be more than a bit batshit crazy – in this case that might just help. Enjoy.
Sublight: “Bitter Witticism” DJ set
When life hands you adversity, give it a good laugh in return. It’s only trying to figure out which of us can take a joke.
Sublight: “White Powder Envelope” DJ set
Which powder, which substance, which substitute, which purpose?
Sublight: “Dirt Cycle” DJ set
One of the more diverse sets in my back-catalogue. This one circles the map more than a few times and brings in some unusual spoken word content.
Sublight: “Armageddon Minutes” DJ set
Horror Jungle hits of the early 90’s.
Sublight: “Rum Jungle” DJ set
This classic goes out to our man Kensho, in the hopes that music will help the healing.
