An odd TBT find – in 2012 three of us formed a music project for a single event, performing a live set with a laptop, bass and guitar. While the master audio was not captured on the night, this is the recording from the laptop.
Sublight: “Bath Salts, Then Smelling Salts” DJ set
It only gets heavier from here on in.
Sublight: “Anthropology of the Hand Clap” DJ set
Tribal tech in the house.
Sublight: “A Grimey Dubtrap” DJ set
Working it.
Sublight: “We be Jackin” DJ set
The spectrum of acid house, all the way from jackin beats to way out space music.
Sublight: “Random Sampling” DJ set
A while back, I got a whole wack of 90’s techno records at Recordland, and tried to mix as many as humanly possible in the shortest time possible. The result is a strong candidate for a pumping Friday night.
Sublight: “Experimin III” DJ set
The musical equivalent of a bowl of soup on a cold day.
Sublight: “Inner fEar” DJ set
Brooding, and occasionally inspiring paranoia.
Sublight: “Well Done My Son” DJ set
If the world is ending in the morning, here’s what it will sound like from space as the cosmos folds in on itself.
If not, then hey, here’s some deep winter techno.
Sublight Live @ Common Culture – November 2012
Here’s a live recording from the November 2012 edition of Common Culture, featuring yours truly with almost two hours of jacking & deep house. Common Culture was a monthly event we held at a gallery when my house became too overrun after our socials. Like the sign says, music and conversation were key, and with a gallery, we happened to have some fun art as well. All kinds of fun while it lasted.
